Project LIFE assists congregations to serve their communities in the event of a disaster. The shock and devastation of 9/11 still lingers in the greater Metro New York area. The event raised our awareness for the need to be prepared. Disasters come in many forms: attacks, hurricanes, blackouts, accidents. As the regional affiliate for Lutheran Disaster Response, a joint program of the ELCA and LCMS, Lutheran Social Services of New York is the local expert on disaster preparedness.
