LIFE Savers
Whoever has two coats must share with anyone who has none; and whoever has food must do likewise. (Luke 3:11)
LIFE-Savers is just one of the ways Lutheran Social Services of New York makes a difference in communities it serves. Each year, more than 1,500 people volunteer with Lutheran Social Services of New York. Our volunteers give more than 14,000 hours of service each year. Our combined LIFE services touch more than 25,000 people annually.
Services
Research tells us that volunteering is a life-giving activity. By joining our LIFE-Saver Volunteer community you can make a difference in a person’s life in any of our LIFE programs by:
| • Supporting our young mothers living at Our Sister’s Place • Helping to feed persons who come to one of our Food Distribution sites • Visiting a senior who is alone |
Contribution Opportunities
If you cannot volunteer your time, a contribution to LIFE-SAVERS will help:
| • Pay for Christmas, Birthday, and Graduation gifts for children in care • Fund repairs in one of the program facilities • Replenish food pantry shelves • Buy supplies for maintenance projects • Offset program staff costs |
