Full Life
Our agency works with “at risk” families to prevent the need for children to be placed into foster care. When foster care is the only option, we help to provide a safe and supportive home environment for children from birth to age 21.
There are almost 17,000 children in the foster care system in the New York area. Another 40,000 are in at-risk homes receiving services to help preserve the family structure. Families dealing with stress, crises, financial difficulties, sickness, emotional instability and other problems frequently lose their ability to care for their children.
Lutheran Social Services of New York is a leader in addressing these needs and providing support for these children. Each year, the agency helps hundreds of children receive the services and resources needed to live safe, healthy lives.
