From the President and CEO:

From everyone at Lutheran Social Services of New York, it is my pleasure to wish you a happy 2012!  Celebrating the New Year brings with it the joy of new beginnings, the excitement of a fresh start.  Maybe living through the struggles of 2011 has earned you the right to hope for a better 2012.  Maybe you had an amazing 2011 and look for 2012 to be the best year yet.  Either way, I hope you can agree that every person deserves a new beginning.  Every person deserves to hope that 2012 will bring health and happiness.

Lutheran Social Services of New York is in the business of active hope.  We cannot sit back passively and hope things will get better.  We work day in and day out to enable people to reach their full potential.  Lutheran Social Services of New York works consistently to provide excellence in  education, housing, legal services, health services, foster care, adoption services, food services and more.  This work helps vulnerable people in Metropolitan New York and the surrounding areas claim the audacity to hope for a better tomorrow.  The stability and support we offer helps people build healthy, happy and hopeful lives.

Friends, I invite you to join us in our work so that we can continue to Strengthen Lives, Families and Communities.  With your gifts and contributions, with your willingness to volunteer, with your engagement with us on social media, and with your heartfelt prayers, we can partner together this year to grow our great city.  May 2012 be the year that all our hopes come true.

Blessings and peace,

Ron Drews
